Have You Experienced This With BMW?
After my friend Bobby Watson bought his first BMW I remember him saying how much he enjoyed driving it. He became so enthusiastic about it that I thought for sure that he was on the BMW payroll. And to this day I have never met anyone more excited about the BMW Brand. But the story doesnt end here.
There is another side of BMW that Bobby made me aware of recently.
If you have the need to experience real speed beyond what you can do on the highway with your BMW here is something that you need to check out. Bobby introduced me to the world of Formula One racing. And to my surprise he told me that for over 50 years BMW has been associated with motor racing in one form or another. And when I thought about it it seemed like a natural connection between BMW and Formula One racing.
As I found out being with Bobby Formula One racing is wild. And the record books are filled with the many successes BMW has had in this sport. And its only right that they have achieved success because of the companys total commitment to innovation and technology. Its the core belief behind everything BMW.
Nobody just watches a BMW during a Formula One race.
You cant just see it on TV or watch the cars zipping by you in the stands at the racetrack. Oh no. This is a participation sport. You go for the thrills the excitement and the pure adrenaline rush of seeing man and machine being pushed to their limits. All you have to do is ask two former BMW Sauber F1 Team drivers Sebastian Vettel and Timo Glock what its like to live this on the edge lifestyle.
And you thought that the only BMW made was what goes in your garage.
Here is something else that I would like to share with you that most BMW owners or wannabe owners dont know. When it comes to endurance racing BMW is definitely at the top of the food chain. Just imagine what it would feel like to be behind the wheel as your BMW V12 LMR wins the legendary 24Hour Le Mans race. Tell me that wouldnt get you pumped.
Like a proud father showing off his first newborn Bobby told me that 18 times in the Nurburgring 24Hour Race and 21 times in the classic 24Hour Spa Francorchamps Race BMW race cars have been in victory lane. Every time Bobby tells me these stats there is a twinkle in his eye almost as if he had driven one of those BMWs to victory himself. And like all BMW enthusiasts he never tires reliving the glory stories of past and present championships.
So dont kid yourself.
If you own a BMW or will own one in the future take my advice. Tell your significant other that your passion will most likely go beyond just your street BMW. Along with your purchase comes not only a tradition but a lifestyle.
Dont say I didnt warn you.

Ford Driven To Retain King Of The Hill Reign
The Ford Motor Co. showcased its new F250 and F450 Super Duty pickups at the 2007 North American International Auto Show media preview held last Sunday. The preview was graced by renowned press motorists and critics in the industry.
The pickups were given allnew looks and feels. It is also equipped with the new 6.4liter Power Stroke diesel engine which produces up to 325 horsepower and 570 poundfeet of torque. The automaker has also ratcheted up the towing capabilities of the pickups to boost their potentials.
According to Mark Fields Ford’s president of the Americas “After 30 years of pickup leadership the Dearbornbased company is not about to give up its hold even if sales in the segment continue to fall as a result of a weak economy. We realize that as a leader we have a bull’s eye on our back.”
The Ford F250 together with F350 was introduced in 1999. These Super Duty trucks were engineered to boost dimensions interiors towing capacity and commercial applications. Ford F450 parts were the results of intensive studies and tests conducted by the automaker. The F450 features a concealed slideout step and swing up hand grab bar in the rear tailgate to allow easy access to the pickup. The Super Duty trucks epitomize the toughness and quality Ford has established for the longest time. Ford’s Super Duty units will arrive in dealers in early 2007.
Ford trucks rivals include General Motors trucks. Chevrolet for one boasts the potentials of Silverado Avalanche and Colorado. Dodge is also competing closely with its Ram and Dakota. Honda’s bet is Ridgeline. Further one great addition to the pickup truck segment is the Toyota Tundra. With these highperformance pickups critics said that it is reasonable to think that there is a great possibility for Ford to lose its crown as the “King of the Hill.”
Chevrolet truck parts are especially designed to compete with the bread and butter trucks of Ford. Chevrolet Silverado counterpart of the Sierra is the second hotselling pickup in the United States next to the Ford Series.
Another improving rival of the FSeries is the Tundra a fullsize pickup truck replacing the T100 of the automaker. The latest Tundra is made bigger to accommodate the growing demands of real truckers. Improved pickup Toyota Tundra truck parts are especially designed to compete with its highperforming rivals.
Whether or not the FSeries will lose its track and fall off the uphill truck competition is for enthusiasts to know in the near future. Ford is defending its title for decades now. Upon one hand auto rivals show eagerness to topple the automaker’s reign. Only time could tell which automaker would grab auto victory instead of misery.

18 Gm Models That Get 30 Mpg Or Better
High gas prices have motorists scrambling for ways to save on gas. For consumers who are in the position to buy a new car shopping for a vehicle that returns high fuel mileage is an important way to ease their pain at the pump.
One threshold used by automotive analysts to determine good fuel economy is a vehicle that returns a minimum of 30 mpg per gallon on the highway. For the record all manufacturers offer at least one model that meets this important measurement but GM is one of the leaders as that company has 18 vehicles for 2009 which accomplish that feat.
High Gas Economy For 2009
Let’s take a look at the thriftiest vehicles sold by GM for the 2009 model year. The numbers in parenthesis are their EPA highway fuel amounts:
Chevrolet: Aveo sedan Aveo5 34 mpg with automatic or manual; Cobalt coupe and sedan 30 mpg for SS Turbocharged; 33 mpg for 2.2L automatic; Cobalt XFE 37; Malibu 2.4L 30 mpg with fourspeed automatic; 33 mpg with sixspeed; Malibu Hybrid 34 HHR 30 mpg with 2.2L and automatic or manual and HHR Panel 30 mpg with 2.2L and automatic or manual.
Pontiac: G5 33 mpg automatic 35 mpg manual; G5 GT 32 mpg automatic 35 mpg manual G5 XFE coupe 37; G6 2.4L sedan 30 mpg with fourspeed automatic 33 mpg with sixspeed; Vibe 1.8L model 31 with automatic 32 mpg with manual.
Saturn: Astra 5Door; Astra 3Door all 30 mpg with automatic 32 with manual; Aura fourcylinder 33; Aura Hybrid 34; and Vue Hybrid 32.
No Cadillac Buick GMC Saab or Hummer model is mentioned with their best numbers in the mid to upper 20s range. Likely that’ll begin to change in 2010 when the Cadillac BLS is introduced and a new smaller LaCrosse is brought online by Buick.
New Threshold of 35 MPG Likely
Going forward the new threshold for high fuel economy is likely to rise to 35 mpg to keep pace with federal requirements that will kick in by 2020. Even then several new cars including the Chevrolet Cruze are expected to get at least 40 mpg as manufacturers figure out ways to use technologies to squeeze more power and better fuel economy out of smaller engines.
All of this is good news for the car buyer who may want to get high fuel economy without paying a bundle for it. Whether buying GM or some other make check the manufacturer window sticker closely to see what you can expect in vehicle fuel economy.
